No. 3 Angsana Oasis Spa and Resort

Day Trip or Weekend Getaway

When it’s hot and dry in Bangalore, a nice place to go swimming is Angsana. The Ansana Oasis Spa and Resort is located within the compound of a huge neighborhood layout which is slowly being developed.

Return to India - Moving to India

Reaching Angsana from MG Road will take one hour on a Sunday; figure in traffic for a week day. But once you reach Angsana you will enjoy the setting.

Why is Angsana Resort a good day trip?

  • Only one hour from downtown Bangalore.
  • The swimming pool has always been very clean. The design of the swimming pool is fun for kids of all ages. Unfortunately Angsana does not have comfortable outdoor furniture. Be sure to bring a big blanket or mats to lie out on the lawn.

Angsana Pool Clean pool
Your family will enjoy this nicely designed pool. Great for playing hide-n-seek. What's important to us: The pool is clean!
  • The Resort offers a Day Package for swimming and lunch which has now become expensive, but it is enjoyable, as you can spend the entire day at the pool.
  • The restaurant has a good buffet on the weekends and an excellent snack menu. We always enjoy their fish and chips.
  • Even here we find the walks enjoyable… just exit any of the compound wall openings and you enter village India. My husband has enjoyed jogging around the area. You can take the bikes and enjoy riding through the layout with younger children, as you won’t have to worry about any traffic.

Outdoor dining on the veranda. Indoor dining.

Angsana Resort also makes a weekend getaway

  • Angsana Resort offers a Package of one night stay with breakfast, lunch and dinner. The rooms are nice and if you are a large family the suites are very accommodating with two full bathrooms and a little fridge, kitchen sink and counter for having snacks. If you are staying overnight they offer the guests full use of their facilities: Tennis, Handball court, table tennis, pool table, work out room and discounts on their spa treatments.
  • If you are into bird watching, staying overnight will allow you to sight some exotic birds in the early morning and evening.
Bird Watching Angsana room
Yes, Angsana even has some good bird watching. Interior of a standard room at Angsana.
  • A biggie for us is that in the evening, at Angsana we have never had to come inside because of mosquitoes. It is amazing; we have enjoyed many meals on open air veranda of the restaurant and not once bothered by mosquitoes. The amazing thing is that we haven’t observed the management spraying or using any pesticides to deter the pests. This is a big plus for our family, because Bangalore nights are so enjoyable when there aren’t any mosquitoes to worry about.

Other Tips

I suggest calling in advance and inquire if they are having a large family conference, if so you may want to consider visiting another day.

Bonus to Angsana: Read about the near by horse riding available at the Embassy International Riding School
